Terms & Conditions
Last updated 27 August 2026
CardVault ("the Service") is operated by Tall Man Digital ("we", "us"). By creating an account or continuing to use the Service you agree to these terms. If you are using CardVault on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms for that business.
The service
CardVault lets you photograph trading cards, have them identified and valued using artificial intelligence, and organise them into a personal collection with price history and set completion tracking. Cataloguing your collection is free; paid plans increase how many AI scans you may run each calendar month.
Your account
You must provide accurate registration details and keep them current. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account.
Acceptable use
You must not use CardVault to:
- break any law, or facilitate fraud, spam or deceptive listings;
- upload images or content you do not have the rights to use;
- infringe anyone's intellectual property or publicity rights;
- interfere with the security or integrity of the Service — including malware, probing, automated scraping, or circumventing scan limits or other technical restrictions;
- resell, redistribute or reverse engineer the Service.
AI output and valuations
Card identifications, grades read from labels, and estimated market values are produced by AI and may be inaccurate or out of date. They are provided for general information only and are not an appraisal, an offer to buy or sell, or financial or investment advice. You are responsible for verifying anything you rely on for a purchase, sale, insurance or tax decision. You are also responsible for having the right to upload the images you submit.
Your content
You keep ownership of the photographs and collection data you upload. You grant us a limited licence to host, store and process that content solely to operate the Service for you, including sending images to our AI providers for identification and valuation. If you believe content on the Service infringes your rights, contact us and we will review and remove infringing material; accounts that repeatedly infringe will be terminated.
Intellectual property
We retain all rights in the Service itself, including its software, design, branding and documentation. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service within the plan you have selected.
Payment and subscriptions
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Billing, taxes, renewals, cancellations and refunds are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. Paid plans renew automatically each month or year until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the Account page in the app or through the billing portal; your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Availability
We work to keep CardVault available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, suspected fraud or security risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may stop using the Service at any time. When your account ends we delete your cards, images and collection data.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses including lost profits, lost data or lost goodwill. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
General
You indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your unlawful use of the Service, or your breach of these terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, and the courts of that state have jurisdiction. We may update these terms; continued use after an update means you accept the revised version.
